San Antonio Express-News
In recent days, many of you stepped away from the citywide search for Manu Ginobili (http://www.chinaspurs.com/players/manu_ginobili) to send along your thoughts on the Spurs’ postseason run.
The resurgent dismissal of the Nuggets in Round 1 and the emerging rugged showdown with the Suns have you all more stirred up than a bunch of blue-haired biddies at a quilting bee.
Whatever the case, you often had me in stitches.
As Stan passed along in a voice mail last week, “Your Courtside (blogs on www.MySA.com) blogs every day have been entertaining, but I can’t decide which side you’re on.”
That, dear Stan, is easy: I’m on your side.
“The link you added on Mark Cuban getting abused by Warriors fans made me smile,” Stephanie wrote in an e-mail. “Can you post it again after every Spurs (http://www.chinaspurs.com) loss?”
There was more.
To wit:
The front-page story (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/basketball/nba/spurs/stories/MYSA050807.01A.Spurs_Identity.36b522b.html)about the Spurs' three championships versus Phoenix's none is low-class. Phoenix doesn't need to be reminded and you can be sure the story will be used to incite the Suns. I'm disappointed that you would highlight the story in this way. It's a disservice to the Spurs (http://www.chinaspurs.com) -- they are too classy a team to be represented in such a way.
- Doris Alderman,
San Antonio
I apologize for Suns 101, Spurs (http://www.chinaspurs.com) 81. And for Manu Ginobili (http://www.chinaspurs.com/players/manu_ginobili).

It’s interesting, as a reader whose family is from Phoenix, reading the story on how the Suns want what the Spurs (http://www.chinaspurs.com) have. At first, I was a little upset, then I realized that the story was right on the button.
Phoenix does want what San Antonio has. An NBA title would be sweet in every way, as my friends in San Antonio tell me all the time.

Our river is better, too. It actually has water in it -- all the time.

I was surprised to not see anything in the newspaper on Jack Nicklaus coming into Cordillera Ranch for the grand opening of the golf course he designed. The guy’s a legend, and it’s big news when he comes around.
Where was the Express-News?
- Paul,
Boerne
Paul, the Bear has gotten plenty of love from us in recent months — as has Cordillera Ranch. The place is a gem, as I’ve written on a couple of occasions.
Also, I’ve been fortunate enough to ride around with Nicklaus as he’s looked over the layout, from beginning to near-completion.
All we missed was the grand opening. But we were there at the beginning, and reviewed the course when it was ready for play. We ran a photo of Nicklaus’ visit in Tuesday’s editions.
And trust me, we’ll be out there again, every time they invite us.

Many of you still were hearing the echoes from KTKR-760 AM’s fake interview with Allen Iverson a couple of weeks back:
I used to love listening to Ticket 760, but now, not so much. Even before the tackle AI skit, I started to listen less during the drive-time hours. I am a huge sports fanatic, but I tune in to hear their take on the Cowboys and Spurs, and other sports-related issues.
As a female, I don’t want to hear their "man laws" and what they think about the females on American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. What does that have to do with sports?
Until they issue an apology, and clean up their act, I plan to get my sports talk radio fix from XM satellite radio instead.
- Jo Ann Bolton,
San Antonio
First, thanks to the Express-News for coverage on this story. Second, any word from Clear Channel on an apology to the Hispanic people who were insulted by Walter Pasacrita and Jeff Vexler. Any word from Matt Martin or George King? What is their stand? Do they really approve of these knuckleheads?
How does it make their peers feel at The Ticket and WOAI (radio and TV) to be associated with these two clowns. Maybe Clear Channel will listen to their sponsors. Since they won’t talk to us, maybe you can get an opinion from their sponsors.
I do believe San Antonio is tired of these two squirrels and deserves better. The ball’s in your court, Clear Channel.
- Carlos,
San Antonio
Walter and Jeff did the same thing with Jerry Jones several times. I thought the Jones skits were in very poor taste. I guess that they didn’t get many complaints about those.
I guess they think that it is OK to do it to a white guy. A lot of things that the station did was in poor taste.
I have been changing to XM when Walter and Jeff come on.
- Randy Roberts,
San Antonio
All, Clear Channel has spoken. Pasacrita and Vexler are still on the air, and producer Eric Gray has been fired. I think that says it all.
Both Walter and Jeff, however, should be expecting a check from XM any day now.
