NEW YORK, March 12, 2007 – The Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and the San Antonio Spurs’ Manu Ginobili (http://www.chinaspurs.com/players/manu_ginobili) today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 5 through Sunday, March 11.
James averaged an NBA-high 32.8 points in helping guide Cleveland to a 4-0 record. He netted a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds in a 91-85 win over Houston on March 5 and scored a season-high 41 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, in a 101-97 overtime win at Detroit on March 7.
Ginobili, who has come off the bench in each game during the Spurs’ current 12-game winning streak, averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals in helping San Antonio to a 4-0 week. He tallied 23 points, four rebounds and thee assists in a 99-94 win at Portland on March 6 and scored 26 points to go with five rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 100-93 win at Sacramento on March 8.
