The Spurs’ comeback from 16 down at the end of one was the third largest over the final three quarters of a conference finals game in the past four decades. Only the 2002 Lakers (down 20 against Sacramento) and 1975 Warriors (down 17 against Chicago) overcame larger deficits.
The Spurs are 3-2 over the last two postseasons when trailing by at least 18 points. The rest of the NBA is 3-61.
It comes not long after the Spurs erased a 16-point deficit with four minutes remaining in Game 1 of their series against Golden State, the first time in NBA history a team had dug out of such a hole.
